Client: CultureMix (2018)
Details: CultureMix encourage engagement in carnival arts and music through experiences, education, professional development and employment. They also incorporate RASPO, the Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra. I worked with them rationalise and give clarity to their offerings on, and update the CMS behind, their content rich website. I also gave it a modern new look and feel and added a shop.
CultureMix’s vision is to connect cultures through creativity using Carnival music and arts as a vehicle for personal growth, education and employment. They provide a range of services including workshops, business skills development, team building and tailor-made experiences in different sites and spaces.
Having worked with them previously they first approached me to update their logo, which needed a little modernising. We also added some animation to the logo on the website to help viewers really feel, and almost hear, the steel pan in action.
We next worked on replacing their old website with a lovely new mobile first responsive one. It took a while to bring clarity to their many services and products but it was well worth it, as they now have an easy to navigate and easy to manage new website. It also has the benefit of being a showcase for their various up-and-coming as well as established artists (with SoundCloud and YouTube integration), an information hub for their many events and workshops, and a place to buy steel pans and accessories.
